The misunderstood semicolon

Where were these types of English lessons when I was in school?! I think I would’ve been a better student if I had a teacher like this.

How to use; a semicolon.

    Kurt Vonnegut said this about semicolons:

    “Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: Do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you’ve been to college.”

    I like Kurt, but I disagree with him. Semicolons have a good use IMO!
